… lots of things are going on in our vineyards. The early spring and the warm weather affected our vines very favourably. Currently we are about 3 weeks ahead in terms of growth and it looks like the good weather will stay with us for some time to come. The new vintage has begun and we could not have wished for a better start.

Young grapevine shoots.

One can almost watch the vines grow on warm days now. Within only a few weeks they form metre long shoots and soon the blossoms will open. Currently the shoots are still a bit shorter tough but one can already discover where the first grapes will grow. Now is the time when the labour intense work starts out in our vineyards. First we replace vines that were damaged during last year and winter. Then after the young shoots have grown long enough we make sure that they stay within the trellis so that wind cannot break them. Later when the tips grow above the trellis we have to cut them but there still remains some time and much work to do until then.
