Current Wines | Wines from 2007

A bottle of Blaufränkisch semi dry

Blaufränkisch is a very old traditional Austrian red wine variety and one of the most precious we have. Its main characteristic lies in the pronounced fruitiness which very few other varieties are able to approach. Other distinctive qualities are an appealing tannin level, an inspiring acidity and the noticable effect of the soil on the overall appearance. Blaufränkisch wines are famous for their drinkability which they are able to prove at many opportunities.

Tasting notes

Our semi dry Blaufränkisch 2007 gleams in a beautiful dark red. The bouquet is fruity and reminiscent of woodland strawberies. In its taste the wine combines very decent sweetness and tender-tart tannins to a exceptionally mild and harmonic enseble that pleases every palate.

Food suggestion

This Blaufränkisch is an ideal wine for afternoon and evening hours and on almost every occasion.

Ageing potential

Reaches its optimum 1-2 years after the harvest. Can be kept for 4-5 years.
