The wine harvest 2013 has started. The growing season is over and it’s time to pick the ripe grapes. We already brought in grapes for grape juice as well as Sämling and Sauvignon Blanc and next week the harvest will continue.

The grape juice is already bottled and ready to drin. We’ll even deliver the first bottles to Vorarlberg when we go there at the end of this month. Sämling and Sauvignon are both now in our cellar and are slowly beginning to ferment. Sämling will become our fresh and sparkling Frizzz…, the Sauvignon Blanc will of course be our Sauvignon Blanc 2013. But this will still take a while. At the moment the slow and gentle fermentation takes precedence.

Today weather is not as good as during the last week so we take a break from harvesting. On monday we’ll then continue with our Junger Welschriesling and, depending on weather and ripeness, with all the other whites and reds. Some time early October we’ll finish the harvest and about that time it is also possible to taste the then still developing young wines of 2013.
