Time for an update. The week was full of work and that’s why the news arrive a bit late. But we have finished this year’s harvest. On tuesday we picked the last grapes of the vintage which are now already fermenting and turning into an excellent Trockenbeerenauslese (TBA).

You might remember that we planned to harvest not only TBA but also Icewine this year. Well it should not be. A few weeks ago we wrote about the great weather for sweet wine development. In fact it was so great that all our remaining grapes turned into Trockenbeerenauslese by just shrivelling and drying out. So there was no sense in waiting any longer. We decided to harvest everything and are happy about the outcome. The juice ran from the press with an incredible sweetness of more than 35° KMW which equals a sugar content of almost 40%. At this sugar levels, fermentation may last for a few months. We’ll keep you updated but it looks very good right now!
