Vintage 2013

Wines of the Vintage 2013. This was in every single detail a challenging vintage for all winemakers. The long and cool spring lead to a late budding of the vines tough the nearly ideal conditions afterwards quickly made up for it. Summer then followed with extreme drought and record temperatures above 40° C. Vines can cope with that but they slow down growth as well as grape ripening. Thus the 2013 harvest began some time later than in many previous years. Patience and good consideration of the harvest dates for the different grapes paid off. At the end of September and early October we were then able to harvest full ripe grapes of great qualities. So overall the 2013 vintage offered quite good wine qualities at average yields.
