Vintage 2018

A vintage that was just right! Following the calamities of recent years, nature has really favoured us in 2018. We were spared natural catastrophies like frost or hail. At the same time the season started uncommonly early. Our vines development was then sped along even more by an extremely hot and long-lasting summer, of the kind we seem to be getting used to by now. Still, and that is not a given at all, we had enough rain to prevent drought. All this lead to the earliest harvest Gols has ever whitnessed. We started in mid-August, finishing in early October when only specialities like Icewine were left to be picked. It almost goes without saying that after a year like that, we’re more than pleased not only by wine quality but also the yield. These kind of vintages could happen more often if you ask us!
